The Morin Trek

Travelling back in time 348 years, from 2010 to 1661 with Morin descendants.

My descendance from Pierre MORIN-dit-BOUCHER and Marie-Madeleine MARTIN -- would like to meet all of you ...

Because of my health the last couple of years, although I'm starting to feel better now, I won't be making the trek with all of you, but my heart and soul are with you. I've already spoken (by email) to Gérard about this.

My G-GPa François Frederick Nelson MORIN started a family genealogy about 75 years ago. He was Antoine's youngest sibling (I believe), and the picture of him in with Gérard's pics is mine, posted on my MORIN-MYERS public tree on Ancestry(*see below). Over the years a number of my relatives have kept up the family history, including, at the present, a couple of my 1stCous-1Rem (my Mom's 1st cousins) who live in Michigan, USA and I continue on with our part. My cousin Rita {MORIN} BOBER published a book/manuscript (only within our family) called "The MORIN - LeMAY-dit-DELORME Story, Acadian/Canadian French Families and Their Descendants", and has written a few articles that have been published by the French-Canadian History Society of Michigan. G-GMa MORIN was a LeMAY-dite-DELORME. My cousin Raymond MORIN of Michigan is also heavily into the family story, having received most of his original data from his Father Thomas MORIN who took over from G-GPa. All of us are in the process of amalgamating our genealogies together.

My direct email address is bigdocdnews@rogers.com and, if you wish to find me on Ancestry (.com/.ca/.fr/.co.uk/.de/.it) use the name above (before the @sign) to find my profile and trees. My Facebook email address is also the same, so you could find me that way if you wish as well. I'd like to take the opportunity now to add as many family historian/researcher contacts of our MORIN family to my contact list as possible so we may all continue our research.

Gérard, I'm trying to get my cousins to agree to sharing our research for your book. Most recently I've been in contact with a French-literate-American Professional Genealogist who lives, works, and does most of their research in Paris, France and other close European countries.

*Please note my MORIN-MYERS public tree on Ancestry is just a research tree I use, so not all references might be correct as I may still be working on them, and it's nowhere near complete. I have close to 20,000 descendants identified in my files on my computer.

Thanks for the input, Al. We're in very good shape genealogically speaking. A quick comparison of our data seems to indicate that we're both on the right track. You may be able to follow our data as we are working on a mapping program that will upload daily events at the end of each day. Keep your fingers crossed.
