In July of 2010 we journeyed back in time to retrace the steps of the Morin family from Cumberland, Ontario to Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia. We learned about many of the Morin descendants of Pierre Morin dit Boucher who married Marie Martin in Port Royal, Acadie, around 1661.

As of October, 2011, we have added more members to the site as we move to sharing and publishing information. 

I am half way through the translation of J.Y. Morin's book l'Odyssée des Morin from French into English.  This covers the first two generations and some of the third as well.  Then it depends on how much genealogy you share with the author.

I have published the story of Frederick Nelson Morin, son of Philippe Morin, with the permission of that family’s descendants.  You’ll find it in an upcoming edition of the Caboose, the newsletter of the Cumberland Township Heritage Society.

I’m currently writing the story of Antoine Morin, who left Ste. Marie de Beauce in Québec sometime around 1840 and who is responsible for most of the Cumberland Morin descendants.

If more of you wish to write a section of our family story, I’ll be only too happy to edit it for you.

Lastly, I have extensive information on the ancestors and family of Bella Cameron, who married George Morin, son of Philippe Morin,  in Rockland, on the ancestors and family of Sara Summers, who married Philippe Morin in 1875 (marriage recorded in Clarence Creek, though Philippe was living in Cumberland Township) and on the ancestors and family of Émélie Paiement dit Larivière, who married Antoine Morin in L’Orignal, Ontario in 1846.

Morin, l’auteur.
